Background
Swedish Nationalmuseum reopened in 208 after a five-year renovation. The renovation sought to put more of the museum’s collection on display and to match the security, accessibility, fire safety and climate control of a modern institution.
Assignment
Efterklang carried out the acoustic design during the restoration of the historic building. A great deal of emphasis was put on sound insulation and noise reduction from technical installation in the building. In the exhibition areas we carried out room acoustic design to optimize sound distribution. The characteristic triangle shaped glass ceiling in the courtyards has a good acoustic effect which directs the sound into sound absorbing walls.
Result
Nationalmuseum now offer world class acoustics!
