Background
A new district court building was designed in the city of Lund during the period between 2015 and 2018. The building is of 12 400 square meters disposed on seven floors. The district court is located directly adjacent to the central station and the railway and is thus affected by high noise levels.
Assignment
Efterklang has performed a full acoustic design as well as acoustic measurements for this project. Since the building is in a noise exposed location, the facades have been designed to block the noise intrusion to the sensitive court rooms. Lot of focus and effort was also placed the room acoustic design of the courtrooms. Speech ineligibility as well as recording of court procedures placed strict requirements of an optimal acoustic environment.
Result
The result is a creative and cost-effective acoustic design, at the same time as the tenant receives acoustically optimized premises that meet the high requirements set on this type of operation. The building has been awarded with “Miljöbyggnad” Gold.
