Background
In 2016, the hygiene and health company Essity moved into new premises in Mölndal, Gothenburg. The distinctive building is a landmark with its round shape and central location next to E6 motoway and Mölndalsbro travel center.
Assignment
The Essity building houses a laboratory, conference center, restaurant, and office spaces. Different types of spaces with different acoustic demands and requirements. A tram turning point is situated underneath the building, which meant a challenge and careful consideration to noise and vibration in the building were necessary.
On behalf of NCC, Efterklang was commissioned to provide acoustic design on the Essity building. Prior to the construction, we assisted the municipality in a detailed development plan.
Result
A modern building with a total of 4 000 square meters space for offices, laboratory, conference center, and restaurant. The building fulfills the environmental standards according to GreenBuilding.
