New handbook guides city citizens to urban retreats around Stockholm
As a city citizen you are bombarded with impressions and information all the time – both visual and audible. But silence and nature might be just around the corner.
In the city of Stockholm there are numerous green escapes that offer silence and recreation. To help citizens find these urban retreats the city has published a new guiding handbook ‘Guide to silence’ to promote quiet urban parks. This is a follow-up to a study that focused on larger recreation areas in the Stockholm region. The new handbook is developed in close cooperation with Ulf Bohman and Efterklang. We have provided useful data on noise levels in the various parks.
The handbook was published in the fall of 2021. It is written in Swedish and you can access it through the City of Stockholm website.
