Background
The Port of Trelleborg AB operates port and terminal operations in Trelleborg and is Scandinavia’s largest RoRo and Ferry Port. The port operates 24/7.
Assignment
Since the year 2000, Efterklang has advised the port regarding external noise investigations for environmental permits. The environmental permit contains conditional levels for maximum noise dispersion and requirements for monitoring noise. Port of Trelleborg is located centrally in the city and consequently, there is a risk of noise spreading to the surroundings. In connection with development plans for parts of the port area, new surveys have been conducted to serve as a basis for an environmental impact assessment.
Result
Efterklang has a very good knowledge of noise in port operations thanks to many years of experience in cooperation with port operators.
