Background
Gylle School is an elementary school located in the Municipality of Borlänge, Sweden. There are plans for the school to become one of the largest elementary schools in Dalarna. There have been several renovations and extensions; the oldest building is from 1949 and the most recent one is from 1964. In general, existing buildings are in poor condition and will consequently be demolished, leaving room for four new buildings.
Assignment
On behalf of Skanska Sweden AB, Efterklang was the design group’s responsible acoustician during 2020 and 2021. Efterklang has assisted with documents and technical solutions as a basis for other designers in the system and construction document phase.
Result
Efterklang has assisted Skanska in building an attractive school for the Municipality of Borlänge. The school is scheduled to be completed in 2026 and will offer both students and teachers a good acoustic environment. The school shall meet sound class C requirements.
