Background
There has been a large-scale influx of new residents to Limhamn, Malmö, occasioning an extensive expansion over the past 10 years. Since 2016, the old cement factory area has been home to mixed urban buildings with homes, stores, restaurants and schools/preschools.
Assignment
Assignmented by Stadsfastigheter, City of Malmö, Efterklang has carried out the complete acoustic design of Bojen pre-school as well as the verification of acoustic requirements through control measurements.
Result
The preschool opened in 2018 offering an inspiring and evolving indoor and outdoor environment for a total of 160 children. The children are divided up into eight departments and have common areas for dancing, drama and water games. The building also houses a kitchen where the preschool’s food is prepared. The preschool meets sound class C.
