Background
Åhléns City Stockholm renovated the entire top floor of their shopping mall. For the children’s department, which occupies the largest area on the floor, a completely new and exciting concept was created.
Assignment
Efterklang’s assignment was to create a sound environment that would appeal to the child in every customer, regardless of age. But also, to create a sound design that follows the daily rhythm and flow in a flexible way.
Result
The playful sound concept for Åhléns children’s department is based on forest animals. Sounds of bears, moose, deer, fox, frog, and squirrel are some of the animals included in the soundscape. We put great emphasis on enhancing the visual forest concept through the tailored sound design. We have been responsible for the idea, sound concept, production, installation and we are continuously maintaining the administration.
