Background
Gränbystaden is a commercial area in the Gränby district of Uppsala. The commercial area is owned and operated by Atrium Ljungberg.
Assignment
Efterklang’s assignment was to plan and design the acoustics for the southern extension of Gränby Mall. The building consists of approximately 15,000 square meters of premises for trade, bowling alleys and a movie theater. There are high sound insulation demands vis-a-vis the surroundings as homes are located only 10 m from the façade of the southern extension.
Result
Gränbystaden is located two kilometers from central Uppsala offering a trading venue with 160 stores, restaurants and service units. Visitors can experience shopping and culture with appropriate acoustics here.
