Background
In January 2022, Swerock’s application for continued and expanded mining and recycling operations at their existing mining site located at Björksättra 1:3 and Gladö 76:5 in Huddinge municipality was approved.
Assignment
From 2020-2022, Efterklang conducted a study on noise impact on the proposed operations. The study involved taking various nouse measurements within the mine and conducting calculations to determine the worst-case scenario for the noise impact on the surrounding area for each mining situation.
Noise caused by road traffic was also studied, taking into account both regular traffic and traffic from mining operations along Holmträskvägen-Hökärrsvägen-Gladövägen all the way to Haningeleden (road 259).
In December 2021, Efterklang participated in a main hearing at the Environmental and Land Court. During the hearing, we presented the results of the noise study and responded to questions from both government and private individuals.
Result
The noise inquests are a part of the environmental impact assessment, which is part of Swerock’s permit application. A thorough noise study is important for the customer as it simplifies communication with relevant authorities in these matters.
