Efterklang awarded gold in Transform Awards Nordics 2022

Transform magazine honors and rewards the most innovative, creative, and successful brand work across the world. The Transform Awards Nordics set out to recognize and celebrate the best in branding from the Nordics region.

Efterklang’s work for Yale – “The Yale Audio Experience” was awarded gold in the category Best Use of Audio Brand. The awarded project is an audio branding concept and extensive sound hardware analysis for Yale, an iconic Assa Abloy brand with a 180-year history in lock maker innovation.

In 2020 Yale reshaped their visual brand profile and the next step in their brand-building strategy was to develop a sound concept to fit the reshaped brand. With design and engineering expertise, Efterklang was given the assignment to define The Yale Audio Experience.

Efterklang created a tailored audio branding concept for Yale, that considers both the customer and user experience. The assignment also included an extensive sound hardware analysis of home products used today.

“For the industry, I think highlighting a project like the Yale Audio Experience and a client like Yale that really take their sound imprint on the world seriously sets a new standard. Today – you can’t be a product developing company with products that communicate with sound WITHOUT having an idea, purpose and a set of design rules on why and how the products should be sounding,” says Martin Hallberg, Creative Director at Efterklang.

It has been a great pleasure to work with the Efterklang team. Not only that we have great end results, but also their way of managing the quite wide global portfolio, many stakeholders and being sensitive to cultural differences. Always listening carefully to concerns, feedback and teaching the whole organization a whole new way to think around sounds and the potential it holds.” says Mari Wegelius, Global Brand Director at ASSA ABLOY Group.
