Background
In central Malmö, Skanska has developed and build STUDIO, an inviting gathering point for the city’s residents and visitors. The building consists of a hotel, restaurants, offices, a large atrium as well as a black box. It was inaugurated in 2016.
Assignment
Efterklang was involved in the detailed design phase of the project and advising the client on buildable and effective solutions that would meet the set criteria as well as create the best possible acoustic environment in the building. The work included room acoustics in the large atrium, sound isolation in the hotel part as well as the black box along with effective and suitable office environments. Before the project was handed over, Efterklang also performed acoustic control measurements.
Result
The result of Efterklangs work is a multi-use building that has optimal acoustics for its purpose. The building is certified as LEED Platinum.
