Background
In central Malmö, an award-winning office building has been constructed by Skanska. It’s one of the first major upcycling projects in Sweden with a large amount of reused materials. The office building, Epic, is designed with people’s well-being at its core and offers a lush atrium between the two building blocks.
Assignment
Efterklang was commissioned by Skanska to design the acoustics in this epic office building. An aesthetic and functional detail is the beautiful walls in the atrium area made of recycled wood. The wall has a clear acoustic function and contributes to good sound distribution in the room.
Result
Epic is certified Gold in the WELL certification framework, an international standard for healthy workplaces. The building was awarded Building of the Year 2021.
